On Friday the 6th of March, we have Newa from Tbilisi, Georgia, whipping the dance floor of Hall into a frenzy! She will be joined by Hall residents Katja Adrikova and Meelis Vili.
Ana Kublashvili is a regular at the world-renowned Bassiani venue, a space that has given her a foundation to establish her skills on an international scale. She is also a recurring favorite at Ben Klock’s touring event-series Photon.
When it comes to Newa’s own productions, it is a direct transition from her sound as a DJ; she represents a nuanced artist, building her musical presence on technical skill and honest feelings. Subspiele Records debuted Newa’s first own productions in 2012, since then she has gone on to release records on fine labels such as Klockworks, Semantica, and the Bassiani in-house label. Since 2016 she also co-runs the diverse Icontrax imprint; here, the focus lies on presenting undiscovered local talent from the flourishing Georgian techno scene.
Katja Adrikova (HALL )
Katja started DJ-ing in 2009 and had been influenced by industrial, techno and other electronic music genres. She is one of the first female DJs that cultivated this kind of style in the local underground music scene. She is resident DJ of Techno series MÜRK, ISOLA and is one of the founder DJ’s in HALL Tallinn.
With the experience gathered over time, she understood and recognised that the soundscapes created during a set cannot be fully planned out - You have to leave a little room for the magic touch of random! To trust the gut feeling what tells moment by moment what is right. So far - melodic, playful, changing rhythms, hypnotic techno, dub & electronic music is what resonates with her the most and rises curiosity to create new and unexplored soundscapes.
She has been playing alongside with artists like Marcell Dettman, Sigha, DVS1, Antigone, Francoise X, Thomas Hessler and other international artists. Katja has been invited to play at festivals and parties in Tampere Finland, Riga, Milano and Berlin. She hosts a monthly internet-radio podcast PERSONAL SPACE in IDA Raadio and PERSONAL SPACE party series with all-female artists and DJs
Meelis Vili (HALL)
As a resident DJ of HALL since 2017 and member of the launching team of HALL, from a classical music background, and with a calling towards techno, the birth of the club gave Meelis Vili the possibility to realize his musical potential.
His DJ sets contain energetic techno beats, dark melodies mixed with acid and dub-techno, engaging the dancefloor until the early hours.
