The trio has been very favorably featured in magazines such as "The Wire", "International Piano Magazine" and "The New York City Jazz Record," and was mentioned by Jez Nelson as "best of the year" on British radio Jazz FM. The three members are without a doubt of the most interesting from Norway's jazz musicians, with Norwegian Grammy Award winner Bjørn Marius Hegge on double bass, Grammy nominees Andreas Winther on drums, and pianist Kjetil Mulelid, known from other projects such as Wako and Kjemilie. Together they are forming a classic acoustic piano trio focusing on Mulelid’s beguiling compositions expertly balancing energetic, rhythmically complex and harmonically rich music with beautiful evocative melodies. While the trio incorporates that sense of calm, unhurried yet constantly unfolding sound world which is distinctively Scandinavian, Mulelid, in concert with bassist Bjørn Marius Hegge and drummer Andreas Winther, effortlessly conjure additional layers, tones, and textures, based upon group improvisations, and informed, in large part, by each others diverse musical experiences.
In recent years they have been very active on the European stage with concerts in Portugal, Stockholm Jazz Festival, sold out Vortex Jazz Club in London, City University Jazz Festival in Paris, packed Jazz Schmiede in Düsseldorf, Tromsø Jazz Festival, Southport Jazz Festival, and a startlingly large number other concerts in Japan, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Estonia, and Scandinavia.
